Beschreibung:Phenylacetyl CoA is a precursor in the synthesis of phenylalanine. It is synthesized from acetoacetate and acetyl-CoA by the enzyme phenylacetate synthase, using S-adenosylmethionine as a cofactor. Phenylacetyl CoA is used in vitro to measure the activity of enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of phenylalanine, such as sephadex g-100 and sodium citrate. Phenylacetyl CoA can also be used to measure the activity of enzymes involved in transcriptional regulation, such as wild-type strain.
