Artocarpin is a natural compound that belongs to the group of polyphenols. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against bacterial, fungal, and protozoan infections. Artocarpin has also been shown to inhibit the growth of human osteosarcoma cells. The molecule is composed of two phenolic rings, with one hydroxyl group on each ring. The molecular weight is 208 daltons, and it exists as a white crystalline solid at room temperature. Titration calorimetry data indicates that artocarpin has a high reactivity with body formation in mitochondrial membrane potentials.
