Hexahydropyridazine-3-carboxylic acid (H3PC) is a cyclic peptide that has been shown to have anticancer activities. It inhibits the activity of matrix metalloproteinases, which are enzymes that degrade collagen and other extracellular matrix proteins. H3PC also exhibits antibacterial activity against infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and staphylococcal infections. H3PC is synthesized by acylation of hexahydropyridazine with trifluoroacetic acid followed by treatment with hydroxyl groups. The biological properties of H3PC are due to its ability to inhibit the reaction mechanism of protein synthesis in prostate cancer cells and its anti-inflammatory properties.
