Avitinib maleate is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and inhibits its activation. It has been shown to have therapeutic effects against prostate cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, which may be due to its ability to inhibit EGFR signaling pathways. Avitinib maleate also has an effect on the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is involved in protein degradation and removal from cells.
