• Beschreibung: N4-Acetyl sulfadoxine is a drug that is used to treat urinary tract infections in women and children. It is also used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, lungs, and joints. N4-Acetyl sulfadoxine may be effective against prostatitis caused by E. coli or Mycoplasma pneumoniae by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. This drug works by binding to dihydropteroate synthase, which prevents folic acid from being incorporated into the bacterial cell wall, thereby inhibiting bacterial growth.
