• Beschreibung: 1,4-Bis(2,3,4-trimethoxybenzyl)piperazine (1,4BTMP) is a piperazine derivative that has been shown to have inotropic properties. 1,4BTMP appears to increase the force of contraction of the heart muscle by increasing intracellular calcium levels. This drug may also be useful in the treatment of ventricular fibrillation and other arrhythmias. It has been shown that 1,4BTMP protects against lipid peroxidation induced by hydrogen chloride and hydrochloric acid in isolated rat hearts. In addition, this compound has been shown to inhibit creatine kinase activity and reduce lipid peroxide formation.
