4-(Methylanilino)-4-oxobutanoic acid is a carboxylic acid with the molecular formula C8H11NO2. It is used in pharmaceuticals and as a chemical intermediate. The result is an intermolecular hydrogen bond network that can be seen by polarized light microscopy. 4-(Methylanilino)-4-oxobutanoic acid has been shown to form dimers through intermolecular hydrogen bonding with another molecule of 4-(Methylanilino)-4-oxobutanoic acid.
