Beschreibung:3-Methylquinoxaline-2-thiol (3MQT) is a compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. It is an activator of caspase-9 and apoptosis, which are both important steps in the process of cancer cell death. 3MQT has been shown to be toxic to human cells at high concentrations, but not at lower concentrations. At low concentrations, 3MQT causes apoptotic effects in cancer cells by activating caspase-9 and inducing mitochondrial membrane depolarization. The compound also has anticancer activity against P. aeruginosa.
