Beschreibung

Metoclopramide is a dopamine receptor ligand used as an antiemetic in the treatment of nausea and vomiting. It also has been shown to be effective in the treatment of neuropathic pain, including post-herpetic neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy, and post-mastectomy pain syndrome. Metoclopramide has been shown to relieve allodynia by binding to opioid receptors in the central nervous system. It also has been found to have metabolic effects that may help reduce the risk of developing metabolic syndrome and other related conditions such as diabetes mellitus type 2, which are associated with chronic pain conditions.
