• Beschreibung: (2R)-2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-5-[2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl-methylamino]-2-isopropylpentanenitrile hydrochloride (ZD4054) is a drug that has been shown to be sensitive to the efflux pump in Escherichia coli. It is also able to inhibit multidrug resistance in nematodes and cross-resistance in humans. ZD4054 inhibits multidrug resistance by inhibiting the efflux of drugs from cells. This prevents the development of resistance to antibiotics and other drugs. The mechanism of action for this drug is unknown, but it may affect chloride channels that are found on the cell membrane. ZD4054 has also been shown to be effective against C.elegans and Drosophila melanogaster, two species commonly used for research purposes.
