N,N-Dimethylaminoethylphenylacetate hydrochloride (DMAEA) is an impurity of the API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) DMPE. It is a white, crystalline powder and is soluble in water. DMAEA is used as an analytical standard for HPLC and GC applications. DMAEA is also a synthetic drug that has been studied in metabolism studies. The natural form of this compound has not been identified but it can be found as a metabolite in urine and plasma following administration to rats.
