Beschreibung

Sodium houttuyfonate is a peptide inhibitor that binds to the ATP binding site of the Na+/K+-ATPase enzyme. This inhibits the transport of potassium ions, which causes an increase in intracellular sodium ion concentration and thus an osmotic effect. Sodium houttuyfonate is used as a research tool for studying protein interactions, protein activation, and ligand-receptor interactions. It is also used as a reagent for purifying antibodies and other proteins by affinity chromatography.
