Beschreibung:E-64 is a chemical inhibitor that binds to the ATP synthase in mitochondria, inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation. This inhibition of mitochondrial energy production leads to cell death by apoptosis. E-64 has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in vitro and in vivo by inducing autophagy and inhibiting cancer cell proliferation. E-64 has also been shown to have proteolytic activity against serum proteins, which may be due to its ability to bind to the phosphate groups of proteins.
