Beschreibung:Caldaret is an analog of the natural hormone calcitonin, which has a number of biological effects. Caldaret is used for the treatment of osteoporosis, but it can also be used to treat bowel disease. Caldaret works by inhibiting the activity of enzymes that break down or destroy cytosolic calcium (Ca2+). It has been shown to reduce symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease, such as abdominal pain and diarrhea, in animal models and humans. Caldaret may be administered as a low-dose group with degarelix acetate for prostate cancer therapy. This combination therapy may be effective in preventing the recurrence of cancer cells due to its ability to inhibit cardiac ryanodine receptor and Ca2+ overload in heart tissue.
