• Beschreibung: ω-Agatoxin TK is a cyclase inhibitor that blocks voltage-dependent calcium channels and inhibits the release of neurotransmitters. ω-Agatoxin TK has been shown to inhibit voltage-gated calcium channels in cerebellar purkinje neurons, resulting in an inhibitory effect on neurotransmission. ω-Agatoxin TK also binds to human proteins, leading to potent inhibition of the protein's activity. In addition, this molecule has been shown to inhibit acid secretion caused by gastric acidification in Sprague-Dawley rats and whole-cell recordings from rat parietal cells. The disulfide bond present in ω-agatoxin TK stabilizes the molecule and prevents it from being degraded by proteases.
