Beschreibung:N-Hydroxy-6-(trifluoromethoxy)-2-benzothiazolamine (NHTB) is a drug that has been shown to have clinical use as an anticonvulsant. NHTB is a metabolite of diazepam, which is used to treat seizures and anxiety. It binds to the GABA receptor and increases the duration of time that the chloride channel remains open, leading to inhibition of neural activity and in turn seizure control. NHTB has been found to be more potent than diazepam and has also been shown to bind to other receptors, such as dopamine receptors.
