• Beschreibung: TU-1 is a monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to the prostate cancer antigen PSMA. The antibody can be used as a diagnostic tool for prostate cancer. TU-1 inhibits the activity of proteases, which are enzymes that break down proteins into peptides and amino acids. It also has been shown to inhibit the growth of myeloma cells in an acid environment and to block synaptic transmission in rats. TU-1 is a type II transmembrane protein with an average molecular weight of 140 kDa and a diameter of 15 nm. It contains three Ig domains, each with two alpha helices, and one beta sheet at the N terminus. TU-1 also has cellulase activity that can degrade cellulose from plant cell walls.
