Beschreibung

4-{2-[(4-Methylphenyl)sulfanyl]phenyl}piperidine (MPP) is a novel serotonin reuptake inhibitor that has been shown to have pharmacological properties for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and depression. MPP binds to the 5-HT7 receptor, resulting in increased levels of serotonin. It also binds to the 5-HT2C receptor, which may explain its antidepressant effects. Clinical data show that MPP has a safety profile similar to other antidepressants. MPP may be an effective treatment for many types of cancer due to its ability to inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in tumor cells.
MPP is metabolized by CYP3A4 and CYP2D6, which are enzymes found in the liver. The drug can also bind with proteins such as albumin, leading to decreased absorption or increased clearance.
