The 13C NMR spectrum of 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-phenylethanol shows two signals at δ 167 and δ 168 ppm with a coupling constant of J = 4 Hz from the carbonyl carbon atom due to the ketone moiety in this molecule. The IR spectrum for this compound displays bands for C=O stretching
