XMD 8-92 is a chemical that has potential as a drug target for cancer. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells by affecting signal pathways, including growth factor-β1 and histone deacetylase (HDAC) activity. The cytotoxic effect of XMD 8-92 on squamous carcinoma cells is significant and its mechanism may be due to inhibition of cellular proliferation.
