Tri-o-tolylbismuthine is an organometallic compound with a constant nature. It has been shown to be a cross-coupling agent in the synthesis of organic molecules. Tri-o-tolylbismuthine is also used as a catalyst for various reactions, such as oxidation, reduction, and hydrolysis of organic compounds. The magnetic properties of this compound are due to the presence of three trivalent bismuth atoms. This compound is tetranuclear and superconductive at low temperatures. The chemical nature of tri-o-tolylbismuthine is that it contains an anion group which consists of three oxygen atoms connected by two bonds.
