3,5-Dimethylpyrazole-1-yl Acetic Acid Ethyl Ester is a white crystalline solid. It can be obtained by refluxing pyrazole with ethyl acetate in the presence of a base. The reaction time can be controlled by varying the amount of solvent and base used; a longer reaction time will produce more ester. The spectrum of 3,5-Dimethylpyrazol-1-yl Acetic Acid Ethyl Ester has been found to be similar to that of other esters, with peaks at 0.84 ppm (m), 1.81 ppm (s), 2.81 ppm (s), 4.04 ppm (q), 5.57 ppm (q). The IR spectrum shows absorption bands at 1718 cm−1, 1607 cm−1 and 1513 cm−1
