Beschreibung

Gold(I) iodide is a compound that can be used to label phosphine. It is also used to study the effects of reperfusion after an ischemic event on the muscle tissue. Gold(I) iodide has been shown to produce gold nanoparticles, which are a form of nanotechnology that can be used as a contrast agent in optical imaging research. Gold nanoparticles have been shown to attach to sulfides in cells and allow for visualization of these structures without labeling. Gold(I) iodide is also capable of binding with piperazine, making it possible for this compound to act as a ligand for certain proteins and enzymes.
