Produktinformation
2-Hydroxyphenyl)diphenylphosphine is a ligand that binds to copper ions and forms a complex with the metal. It is used in the dehydrogenation of chlorobenzene, which is an organic solvent that contains chlorine atoms. 2-Hydroxyphenyl)diphenylphosphine can also be used in the reductive elimination of hydrogen chloride gas and as a bidentate ligand. This ligand has been synthesized by reacting phenol with diphenylphosphinic acid chloride in the presence of phosphorus pentoxide. The coordination geometry of this compound is octahedral, with two ligands binding to each metal ion. Protonation can occur on any terminal oxygen atom on the phosphine ring, but it is most likely to occur on the oxygen atom at position 2 or 6.
