Beschreibung

Sulprostone is an amide of prostaglandin F2 alpha. It is a potent agonist of the prostaglandin receptor. Sulprostone has been used in the treatment of endometriosis and premenstrual syndrome, and has been investigated as a possible treatment for infectious diseases. In humans, sulprostone acts by increasing cytosolic calcium levels, which leads to increased blood sampling from the uterine artery and increased water permeability in the endometrium. It also inhibits the development of intrauterine adhesions and myocardial infarcts. Sulprostone is believed to have a low potency because it does not bind well to its receptor molecule.br>br>The LC-MS/MS method is useful for determining the presence of sulprostone in samples due to its high sensitivity and specificity.
