Beschreibung:
Cryptofolione is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme alkylsulfonyl, which is responsible for the synthesis of fatty acids. Cryptofolione binds to the active site of alkylsulfonyl and inhibits its activity. Cryptofolione has also been shown to be effective against leishmania parasites, inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids in these cells. The inhibition is stereoselective, with a preference for the (E) form of pyridinium. This drug has also been synthesized using an allylation reaction and a section-c1-c6 alkoxy method.
