Beschreibung:Rp-8-Br-PET-cGMPS is a cytosolic calcium analog that inhibits the production of cyclic GMP and has been shown to be an effective anticancer agent. It binds to the camp receptor, which is found in high concentrations in cancer cells, and blocks the uptake of cAMP by inhibiting the adenosine 3 receptor. Rp-8-Br-PET-cGMPS also inhibits the activity of mt2 receptors, which are responsible for the release of Ca2+ from intracellular stores into the cytoplasm. This inhibition limits Ca2+ uptake by the mitochondria and decreases ATP production, leading to cell death. The 8-Br group confers solubility in organic solvents, making this compound more amenable to drug development.
