Beschreibung:4-Nitrothiophene-2-carboxamide is a synthetic compound that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of mycobacterial growth in vitro, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.5 µg/mL. The compound has also been shown to have antimycobacterial activity against cancer cells in culture by inhibiting DNA synthesis and inducing necrotic cell death. 4-Nitrothiophene-2-carboxamide has also been shown to be an effective inhibitor of cellular inflammatory responses and is currently being investigated as a potential therapeutic agent for treatment of cardiovascular disease.
