3-(Naphthalen-2-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde (3NP) is a potential quinone reductive amination inhibitor that could be used to treat bacterial and fungal infections. 3NP has shown antimicrobial activity against a number of different bacteria and fungi, including some strains that are resistant to other antibiotics. 3NP may act by inhibiting the synthesis of aromatic amines in bacteria, which are essential for cell growth.
