Beschreibung:JH295 is a small molecule that is a noncatalytic inhibitor of the methyltransferase DNMT1. It binds to the active site of the enzyme, preventing it from carrying out its catalytic function. JH295 has been shown to be effective in treating cancer cells in vitro and in vivo by inhibiting DNA methylation and leading to tumor cell death. JH295 also inhibits Dnmt3a, a protein that is necessary for maintaining DNA methylation patterns, thereby causing hypomethylation. The therapeutic potential of JH295 is supported by its ability to induce hematological responses in animals with leukemia and lymphoma. This drug has been shown to have no effect on the cellular level when used as a hydrogen bond donor or acceptor.
