N-Boc-4-aminomethylpyridine is a low molecular mass organic compound. It has a pyridine ring with an N-Boc group and an aminomethyl group attached to it. This compound can be used as a building block for the synthesis of supramolecular structures and organogelators, which are used in solar cells. Optical spectroscopy studies have shown that this compound is capable of absorbing visible light and generating photocurrents, which could be useful for solar cells. The kinetic behaviors of this compound were studied by measuring the rate at which molecules dissociated from the surface of a drop of organogelator solute in water. The results showed that N-Boc-4-aminomethylpyridine had rapid kinetics, making it useful for transport applications such as microscopy or microfluidics. Tert-butyl groups can be easily removed from the molecule, which may lead to lower
