Poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) is a biocompatible polymer that can be synthesized by the reaction of ethylene oxide with acetic acid. It has been shown to have biological properties and has been used in various medical applications, such as surgical sutures, hemostatic agents, and wound dressings. Poly(2-ethyl-2-oxazoline) is also biodegradable and noncytotoxic. The polymer has been shown to have excellent conformational properties and is electrochemically inert with very high dielectric strength. This makes it an excellent candidate for use in biomedical devices such as implantable electrodes or catheters.
