Beschreibung

Lomefloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It inhibits the bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. Lomefloxacin has been shown to be effective against tissue infection caused by E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Enterobacter cloacae. It can also be used for the treatment of symptoms caused by chinese medicine preparation such as chinese medicine preparation, glucose injection, fructus ligustri and fructus. In vivo animal studies have shown that lomefloxacin is excreted in urine as its sulfoxide metabolite (LOME) and not in unchanged form.
