Potassium tetracyanoborate is an inorganic compound. It has a redox potential of -0.25 V and is soluble in water. The aromatic hydrocarbon group forms the central ring structure of this compound, with two nitrogen atoms substituting for two carbon atoms. This inorganic salt is biodegradable, as well as being a diazonium salt and fluoroalkyl dye cation that can be used as an efficient method for analytical determination of dyes. It is also a cross-linking agent for polymers that can be used to produce analytical methods such as pyrylium or perylene derivatives.
