Beschreibung

Aucubin is a natural compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, and antioxidant effects. It has also been shown to have a matrix effect on enzymes and to inhibit neuronal death. Aucubin also inhibits the production of tumor necrosis factor-α in mouse models of primary pulmonary hypertension. This compound may be useful for the treatment of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis or sepsis, which are caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Staphylococcus aureus, respectively. Aucubin's pro-apoptotic activity is due to inhibition of the synthesis of an enzyme called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The mechanism of action for this inhibition is not known.
