Zirconium titanium oxide (ZTO) is a ceramic material that is used as an inorganic chemical sealant. It has been shown to have photocatalytic and ferroelectric properties. The photocatalytic activity of ZTO can be increased by the addition of boron nitride, which enhances its ability to decompose organic matter. ZTO also has transport properties that are dependent on the particle size and shape, as well as the crystalline structure. Constant and variable temperature tests have been performed using ZTO with pluronic F127, which is a polymeric surfactant that stabilizes colloidal suspensions. These tests show that ZTO particles can be made soluble in water with the use of pluronic F127 at high temperatures.
