Beschreibung

1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidic acid is a monoclonal antibody that can be used to detect the presence of bacteria. It binds to bacterial cells and damages their cell wall, which leads to their death. 1PAOPA has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancerous tissues and for radiation therapy. 1PAOPA is also being developed as a possible therapeutic agent for other conditions such as diabetes mellitus type II, Crohn's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis.

1PAOPA binds to bacterial cells by targeting lipopolysaccharides on their cell membranes. It then triggers an inflammatory response by activating the complement system in host tissues, resulting in the destruction of damaged tissues. 1PAOPA also has antiangiogenic properties which inhibit the growth of new blood vessels. This drug is still undergoing clinical trials and its safety and efficacy have not yet been fully established.
