D-Glucose - monohydrate is a glucose molecule that is found in the blood stream. It is the preferred source of energy for the brain and has been shown to enhance brain function. Glucose is also used to maintain the water balance of cells and tissues, as well as to prevent or treat hypoglycemia. D-Glucose - monohydrate has antibacterial efficacy against a number of bacteria including staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus subtilis. It can also inhibit squamous cell carcinoma growth in vivo by preventing the proliferation of cancer cells.
