Glucosylsphingosine is an oligosaccharide, which is a polysaccharide composed of three or more monosaccharides. This compound can be methylated, glycosylated, or fluorinated in order to change its properties. Glucosylsphingosine has been synthesized from glucose and sphinganine, which are both monosaccharides.
