Acetic acid, tert-butyl N-(1-carbamimidoylcyclopentyl)carbamate has been shown to have anti-HIV activity, inhibiting HIV infection by binding to the gp120 protein on the surface of HIV. Acetic acid, tert-butyl N-(1-carbamimidoylcyclopentyl)carbamate may also be useful for autoimmune diseases such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, where it inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines.
