Beschreibung

Picroside I is a natural compound that is found in leaves of the tree "Piscidia erythroxylon" and has been shown to be hepatoprotective in rats. Picroside I inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and decreasing the expression of COX-2 and iNOS. It can also inhibit the growth of bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis, which may be due to its inhibition of ribosomal activity. Picroside I has been shown to be stable under various conditions, including chemical stability, as well as being metabolized by rat liver microsomes.
