Beschreibung

S-Adenosyl-L-methionine disulfate tosylate (SAMe) is a dietary supplement that is used to treat depression and liver disease. It is also a metabolite of the amino acid methionine, which is formed by the enzyme S-adenosylmethionine synthase. SAMe has been shown to inhibit the activation of caspase 3, which causes apoptosis in cells, and may be useful for treating cancer and other diseases. The chromatographic method used to separate SAMe from other compounds relies on its evaporative properties, due to its high water solubility.
