Beschreibung

2-Amino-6-chloro-9-(2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-b-D-ribofuranosyl)purine is a novel antiviral agent that belongs to the ribonucleosides category of drugs. It is phosphorylated by cellular enzymes to form an active monophosphate, which then inhibits viral DNA synthesis by inhibiting the activity of DNA polymerase. The phosphate group in 2-amino-6-chloro 9-(2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl b D ribofuranosyl)purine may be modified to produce other derivatives with different antiviral activities. 2-Amino 6 chloro 9-(2',3',5'-tri O acetyl b D ribofuranosyl)purine has shown anticancer properties and may have a potential use in the treatment of leukemia and lymphoma.
