- Stilbene-4-Carbonitrile
4-Cyano-trans-stilbene is a derivative of stilbene that is synthesised by the addition of aryl chloride to 4-hydroxymethylphenylboronic acid. It has been shown to have a constant viscosity, and can be used in ferrocene synthesis. The isomers of this compound are cis-4-cyano-trans-stilbene and trans-4-cyano-trans-stilbene. The architectures of these compounds are different, with one being linear and the other being planar. 4-Cyano-trans-stilbene has two functionalities, which are the phenolic hydroxyl group and the aromatic ring. This compound also has homologues such as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,-octahydroanthracenecarbonyl chloride and 2-(2'-hydroxy)benzophen
