This extract was studied on mice with squamous carcinoma and found to inhibit tumor growth. Yangambin is also known for its ability to stimulate the immune system by activating toll-like receptors (TLRs) that are involved in the recognition of pathogens. Yangambin activates TLR2, TLR4, and TLR9 pathways and induces a pro-inflammatory response against Leishmania parasites.
