Produktinformation
2-Iodo-6-nitrophenol is a halophenol that is used as an antineoplastic agent. It has been synthesized by modification of dextrose and is active against t. mentagrophytes, but has low activity against other fungi. 2-Iodo-6-nitrophenol inhibits bacterial growth by nitrosoguanidine formation, which blocks the synthesis of proteins necessary for cell division and induces apoptosis. 2-Iodo-6-nitrophenol was also shown to have clinical efficacy in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
