1-Allyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazole is a ligand that has been investigated for its ability to activate phosphorus pentachloride. 1-Allyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazole is a colorless liquid with a constant boiling point and low volatility. It has been shown that 1-allyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazole can be used as a substrate in the reaction mechanism of chlorination of olefins. The activation energy for this reaction has been determined to be 29.6 kJ/mol and the reaction mechanism is thought to proceed via an intermediate composed of allyl chloride and PCl3. The molecular weight of 1-allyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazole is 116.2 g/mol and it has an NMR spectrum with peaks at 3.88 ppm (CCH), 7.15 ppm (CH), 7.87 ppm (CH), 8.96 ppm (
