Beschreibung

2-[(4-Chlorophenyl)sulfanyl]-1-ethanol is an organic solvent that is used in the synthesis of organometallic compounds. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of approximately 55°C. 2-[(4-Chlorophenyl)sulfanyl]-1-ethanol is used as a catalyst in the production of peroxovanadium, which catalyzes the conversion of hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen. This compound also can be used in the synthesis of peroxides and propiolic acid, which are active ingredients in wettable powders. The catalytic properties of 2-[(4-Chlorophenyl)sulfanyl]-1-ethanol are due to its ability to act as a hydrogen donor and form sulphoxides.
