It inhibits the growth of cells by binding to the receptor ligand. 1-Chloropinacolin has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of Hl-60 cells and Mcf-7 cells and induce apoptosis in these cell lines by inhibiting high salt, low energy, and thermodynamic factors. This drug also exhibits potent anti-viral activity against human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) in culture.
