Beschreibung:
2,4-Dihydroxyphenyl-4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazine (2,4DDPT) is a catalyst that is used in the oxidation of chloride to form chlorine. 2,4DDPT can be extracted from resorcinol and has been shown to be an effective catalyst for chlorate production. It is also used as a reaction solvent for the conversion of benzene to chlorobenzene with aluminum chloride or cyanuric chloride. The product can be purified by recrystallization or anhydrous precipitation.
